Root - Our Beloved BoyOur boy Root passed on from this life this weekend. It was incredibly hard to say goodbye to him, he's been with us for 15 years. He was so much a part of our lives, our history.
Josy and RootJosy and Root were like brother and sister, though from separate litters, they were 5 weeks apart in age, Root older. They were so close, I feel bad for Josy being without her pal.
Root we love you brave boy, your memory lives on in our hearts and minds!

It is so hard to lose a wonderful dog after they have been such a focal point of our lives for many years. I lost my 12 year old lab mix Mushka this summer, so I have a sense of what you are going through. I still miss her, but am comforted by the many pictures we have of her and my fond memories. I hope your memories help ease the sadness in your heart.
Thanks Jen..we lost our 17 year old cat two years ago as well, no matter how much loss you deal with it doesn't get easier but time does help with the sadness. We're lucky to have such great memories and adventures with Root and we're lucky to have our two other dogs that never cease to make us smile.
